🔌 How to Install a GPL Plugin in WordPress
Download the Plugin
Download your desired premium plugin’s .zip file from a reliable and trusted GPL provider like Shineads.
Extract & Check Files (Important)
Sometimes, the downloaded file contains documentation, add-ons, and the actual plugin. Extract the downloaded file on your computer to find the installable plugin-name.zip file inside.
Go to WordPress Dashboard
Log in to your WordPress admin panel. In the left-hand menu, navigate to Plugins and click on Add New Plugin.
Click Upload Plugin
Click the ‘Upload Plugin’ button located at the top of the page next to the heading.
Select Zip File & Install
Click on ‘Choose File’ and select the main plugin .zip file from your computer. After selecting it, click on ‘Install Now’.
Activate the Plugin
Once the installation is complete, a success message will appear. Click the ‘Activate Plugin’ button to make it live on your website.
🛠️ Common Installation Issues & Solutions
Issue 1: “The package could not be installed. No valid plugins were found.”
Solution: You have uploaded the wrong file. Extract the main .zip file you downloaded first. Look inside the extracted folder to find the actual installable plugin .zip file, and upload that one instead.
Issue 2: “Destination folder already exists.”
Solution: This means an older version of the plugin is already installed. If you are trying to update it, simply click on the “Replace current with uploaded” button that WordPress displays, or delete the old plugin first and try again.
